Welcome! A Holistic Approach to Sports Medicine and Wellness

I’m glad you have joined me here in The Training Room. As a sports medicine physician, my goal is to help people move better, recover stronger, and live healthier — whether you’re an athlete striving for peak performance, a weekend warrior getting back to your favorite activities, or someone looking to manage pain and improve daily movement. You are in the right place!
I’m a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), and my undergraduate degree was in athletic training with a minor in bible. This means, my beliefs, education and training emphasize care for the whole person — not just a specific symptom or injury. Osteopathic medicine emphasizes the whole person including body, mind and spirit. The close relationship between these areas informs our care of patients. As such, we have to address all of these areas to attain true health. The neglect of one will not result in wellness. Lifestyle choices like sleep, nutrition and movement, anxiety and mood, relationships and spirituality all intertwine to affect our overall well-being. In practice, that means I take time to understand the full picture of your health and focus on helping the body restore its natural balance and ability to heal.
You might be asking, what is osteopathic medicine? If you’re unfamiliar with osteopathic medicine, you’re not alone! DOs are fully licensed physicians, trained to diagnose, treat, and prescribe medications just like MDs — but with an added emphasis on a whole-person approach to health. We’re taught to look beyond symptoms and identify the root causes of dysfunction, whether physical, emotional, environmental or otherwise.
In my clinic, I combine evidence-based sports medicine with the common sense osteopathic philosophy of treating the whole person to optimize recovery, health, performance and well being. Exercise, nutrition, sleep, recovery and so much more play a role in musculoskeletal health, and my approach integrates these to create sustainable, long-term results. Whether it’s developing a personalized exercise plan, managing joint or tendon pain, or optimizing performance, I aim to guide patients toward strong, functional, and balanced living.
This blog will be a space where I share insights on injury prevention, exercise, nutrition, recovery, and the latest developments in sports and musculoskeletal medicine as well as my views on health and wellness. My hope is that this space becomes a trusted resource for anyone who wants to better understand their body and take control of their health.
Thank you for visiting. I look forward to sharing this journey with you and helping you take the next step toward your goals — wherever you are in your health and wellness journey.
